Nienke has been involved as a project coordinator since the foundation of the Knowledge Platform (2018). Together with Tom, she leads the team and shapes the platform organizationally and substantively.  In 2018 she obtained her PhD at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences (Department of Cultural Geography). For this she researched land expropriation in Argentina and the tensions and cooperation that this created between government, companies and residents. In her work at the Knowledge Platform, she believes it is important to share research results more widely and thus contribute to improving the approach in the gas extraction case. She believes it is important to bring people together from different angles and disciplines. Nienke likes to think along about the lessons of Groningen and how residents can be better involved in the reinforcement tasking and in future energy projects in the province.
